For whatever reasons, believers in the early days, and believers now, seem bent on 'adding, adding, adding'. Ever more complexities and over-complications. Each addition means you're closer to God?
I always try to remember the 'woman at the well' and the roman slaves that were attracted to Jesus' offer. To me, the simplicity is absolutely essential. When you add all the pharasaic religiousity that Christianity has added, it is no longer understandable. It appears quite contrived. Unbelievable.
Let's talk about you! Where are you at, in terms of belief? If you're 'down the road' from me, that's just great!
But if you're
doubtful or even hostile to the faith, I really think you should
separate us 'Christians' from
God and what he is offering. I think 'Christians' really
cloud the message. We're not good
advertisers for God's offer to you!
What is his offer?
Divinity. You'd
never guess that from us Christians! We're 'dinking around', worried about which '
rule' you're following. But what
Jesus talked about to the first-century jews was
shocking to them, and should be
surprising to you. Not very complicated, true. But something that I think you
want.
Welcome to my site. I hope that it helps you.
