1. THE WRITERS AND THE WRITTEN
: If you believe the New Testament is God's inspired word, then 'Historical Jesus' is basically God's carefully crafted design (however confusing it might be). Without that 'inspiration', then human error (or intent) becomes the question. In this section, we discuss the gospel writers and the most likely writing sequence that occurred (in our view). This sequence is absolutely critical to any conclusions that follow.

2. WHAT DID JESUS SAY? COMPARING THE SYNOPTICS
:
The first step in approximating what Jesus taught, is to narrow down what he
possibly
said ... versus what he likely didn't. This is an opinionated process, but purposely biased toward accepting the text (in the absence of anything to the contrary). This is the most tedious portion of the process, but the most revealing. Look at each Jesus-saying, and see if you agree.

3. JESUS' THEOLOGY
: As you move through the (cleaned up) synoptic gospels, Jesus' message seems to shift. Later, his disciples appeared to be teaching something completely different. What did Jesus actually teach? Can we tell?

4. MINI-DICTIONARY:
Here's some comments on key ideas that show up in Jesus' teaching. The concepts are certainly not very 'Christian'.

5. LANGUAGE AS RELIGION
How could jews have accepted Paul's teachings? The solution lay in 'greek' replacing aramaic and hebrew. The OT translation provided a 'new covenant' and the 'NT'.

Sedona's Tlaquepaque has a quiet chapel for prayer. High above is the cross that came to represent one agreed-upon historical event.
