THE KINGDOM OF GOD If you read Jesus' words (the 'red writing'!), he often spoke of the 'kingdom of God', and what it is like. Your first inclination is to think he's talking about 'heaven' and the future! But, after reading a little, it becomes obvious, he's talking about us! At this point, you start to wonder. CONSERVATIVES We take considerable pride in believing the whole Bible, and the literalness of the writings. In the early days though, we would be the 'liberals', who kept 'adding' to the original message. The original conservatives were back in Jerusalem questioning Paul! SHOULD YOU REPENT? If you grew up in a conservative church, you KNOW you need to REPENT! But if you look between the NT books of Acts and Revelation, you'll find almost no 'repent'. Surprised? And in John's gospel, there's Mr Repentence himself ... John the Baptist, but no repentence to be had. So why repent??

VIPER-BOYS! As you read the 'red writing' of Jesus' words in the New Testament, you see 'humbleness', 'lowliness', and the least being the most important. But Paul stomps in, talking about 'the dogs' and 'castrating' his opponents. Next, Jesus steps up to the plate with the 'vipers'. How do you reconcile the two apparent contradictions? Or can you?

CLOUDY FAITH? 'Faith' and 'belief' were early concepts and both so important that the Christian religion soon became 'the Faith' (previously 'the Way'). Jesus, in his early ministry, explained why some villages had few miracles ... they had no 'faith'. They were not 'convinced'. Are you 'convinced'?

ATTRACTIVE JESUS Do you believe in Jesus, but are surprised that others also believe, but not like you? Don't be. Jesus is like a chamelion ... He seems to change with each new believer. That's why He's so attractive!

WHEN MIRACLES ARE NOT Miracles are difficult to prove, either pro OR con. That's why they're miracles. You really have to be there. So was the 'magic pool' in Jerusalem a miracle?

HOW MANY BODIES OF CHRIST? If you like Ephesians or Colossians, you no doubt know about 'the body of Christ'. It's the church, of course. And it's always singular. So when you open the yellow pages, which one is 'the body'??? And what is the criteria, since they 'all' think THEY are 'the body'!

HOW MANY DIVORCES DID JESUS ALLOW? 'Technically' none, but Matthew let men off, if you have an adulterous wife (hetero-marriages only). But along came the Samaritan woman, and that changed the picture ENTIRELY!

BE 'HOLY SPIRIT' FOR A DAY!! OK, let's be careful here, and NOT blaspheme. But just imagine yourself 'inspiring' the NT. You WILL have trouble! Maybe so much trouble, the Holy Spirit (God) wasn't involved?

WHAT WITNESS WOULD YOU ACCEPT? Sometimes, you might wonder whether God really exists, or for that matter, 'Jesus', right? And though you look at the evidence, you almost never ask, 'What witness would be good enough for ME?'
